If
you are in Dallas, TX in July stop by
the Janette Kennedy Gallery at 1409
S. Lamar St. The Lost and Found show
will be in the gallery from July 2-31,
2008. A reception for the artists will
be held Thursday, July 31, 6-8 pm. The
gallery is open 10-6 during the week
and through the front desk on weekends.
The
pieces in the show explore the form of
the suitcase as well as subject matter
associated with the suitcase including
adventure, smuggling, displacement and
memories. Eight members of Alternate Image,
a mixed-media collective, as well as six
guest artists will show work ranging from
photography to installations. The artists
include members: Barbara Chadwick-Bland,
Ann Hartley, Jason Kishell, Masumi Kataoka,
Mari Omori, Lisa Qualls, Matthew Scheiner
and Alyssa Wood. The guest artists are:
Andrea Cook, Garland Fielder, Lovie Olivia,
Jenny Pascual, Lotus Witt-Bermudez and
Valerie Yaklin-Brown.
